Creative Writing Club

Suitable for ages 9 to 14 years and all writing abilities, my Creative Writing Clubs are the perfect space for young writers to develop their voice and explore the craft of storytelling. It’s an exciting environment where we use hands on activities to focus on original ideas and creativity.

Building Blocks: Through engaging activities explore the building blocks of storytelling including character, setting, plot, conflict and theme, as well as genre and inspiration.

Active Creation: Bring stories and character to life through prompts, drawing, designing, or using inspiration stations, and exploring the exciting ascent of the Story Mountain.

Visual Storytelling & Creative Language: Experiment with language and visuals by creating comics, plays, zines and using blackout poetry.

The Writer’s Studio: Dedicated time to work on stories and projects, with the option to read or perform work.

This supportive environment fosters practical skills and imagination:

Creativity: A space to experiment with writing, words and storytelling.

Confidence: The assurance to express and communicate their unique ideas.

The Power of Stories: The ability to understand and use the building blocks of stories, experience the joy of language and different storytelling forms.
